Porch Goose Outfit - Windsor
Give your porch goose a brand-new wardrobe in this beginner-friendly sewing class! Participants will choose from 3 different outfit styles to create, with each set including a coordinating shirt or dress and matching hat perfectly sized for a standard porch goose.
Along the way, you’ll learn foundational sewing skills including cutting patterns, simple garment construction, hemming, and adding fun finishing details. Whether you want your goose to look sweet, silly or seasonal, there’s plenty of room to personalize your project and make it uniquely yours.
Perfect for confident beginners and experienced sewists alike, this class is a fun way to build confidence at the sewing machine while creating something delightfully whimsical.
Ages 16 and up are welcome. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a finished outfit for your porch goose.
This class is geared at the confident beginner and up. Prior sewing experience is required for this class, you must know how to operate a sewing machine but no prior quilting or plushie experience is required. If you don't have any prior sewing experience, please take our Machine 101 class.
Materials are not included in the cost of this class, all materials and tools can be purchased during or prior to class at a 20% discount.
Materials Needed:
Please note this hat can be made out of solid fabric or patchwork. If you are doing the patchwork option, you must buy pre-cut fabric or cut your fabric before attending class.
- 0.75yd quilting cotton
- 0.75yds of SF101 or equivalent woven interfacing
- any embellishments or trims you would like to add to your outfit
- Coordinating Thread
- Universal 90/14 Needles
Tools needed:
- Scissors
- Seam ripper
- Pins
- Clips
- Clear ruler with 1/8" markings (we recommend a 3"x24" or 6x24" rectangle)
- Heat or Water Erasable Pen
You can bring your own machine or use one of our machines for this class.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
ALL COURSE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Please make sure that you are certain of your availability prior to registering/processing payment. If your schedule changes and you notify us by email at least 7 days in advance, we can offer you a credit to be used towards a future class. If we need to cancel a class for any reason, your class fee will be fully refunded in this case only.
