Sew 3 Gifts They’ll Actually Use!

Skip the mall and spend some time sewing thoughtful, handmade gifts! In this fun, beginner-friendly class, you’ll create three quick projects that are perfect for holiday giving (or keeping for yourself — we won’t tell!).

You’ll make:
Reversible Wine Bag – A stylish, reusable way to gift your favourite bottle. Fully lined and reversible — two looks in one!
Bowl Cozy – Keep your hands cool and your soup hot! A cozy, practical gift everyone loves.
Drawstring Gift Bag – Ditch the wrapping paper and sew a reusable fabric bag you’ll use year after year.

Along the way, you’ll practice handy sewing skills like sewing and turning lined projects, creating casings, and topstitching for a crisp, professional finish.

Skill Level: Confident beginner — you’ve used a sewing machine before and are ready for some fun, easy projects.

Materials are not included in the cost of this class, all materials and tools can be purchased during or prior to class at a 20% discount.

Materials Needed: 

• Coordinating Thread (100% cotton only for bowl cozy), Universal 90/14 Needles
• Wine Bag: 2 Fat Quarters of Quilting Cotton
• Bowl Cozy: 2 Fat Quarters or 0.33yd Quilting Cotton, 0.33yd 100% Cotton Batting
• Gift Bag: 0.5yd main fabric, 0.5yd lining fabric, 1 Fat Quarter for casing, 2.25yds 1" grosgrain ribbon

Tools needed:

• Rotary Cutter (45mm)
• Scissors
• Seam ripper
• Pins
• Clips 
• Clear ruler with 1/8" markings (we reccomend a 3"x24" or 6x24" rectangle)
• Heat or Water Erasable Pen 
• 1/4" foot for your machine
• Walking foot for your machine

You can bring your own machine or use one of our machines for this class.
