Beginner Bag Making Essentials - Chatham

Ready to dive into the world of bag making? Join us for this 6-week sewing adventure where you’ll create the complete Portside Travel Set by Grainline Studio! Designed with beginners in mind, this class will guide you step by step through making three fabulous bags — a handy travel pouch, a dopp kit, and a duffle bag.

Along the way, you’ll build confidence working with sturdier fabrics and learn essential bag-making skills like sewing zippers, adding linings, boxing corners, making straps, and attaching hardware. Each week focuses on a new project or technique, so you’ll always leave class with fresh knowledge (and progress you can show off!).

By the end of the course, you’ll have a coordinated 3-piece travel set that’s perfect for weekends away, organizing your essentials, or gifting to someone special. More importantly, you’ll walk away with the skills to tackle even more bag projects on your own.

Come ready to learn, laugh, and leave with something you can actually use — and maybe even brag about on your next trip!
