In this intro to alterations we will cover some basic techniques including hemming pants/skirts, shortening sleeves and taking in a pair of pants. 

Transform your wardrobe and master essential tailoring skills in this hands-on introductory alterations class. Perfect for beginners and those looking to refresh their sewing abilities, this course will equip you with the fundamental techniques needed to customize and repair your clothing.

In this class we'll cover:

1. Hemming pants and skirts: Learn how to create clean, professional-looking hems on various fabrics and garment styles. We'll explore different hemming methods and machine-sewn finishes.
2. Shortening sleeves: You'll practice measuring, marking, and executing precise cuts and seams to achieve the perfect fit.
3. Taking in pants: Master the skill of adjusting waistbands to breathe new life into ill-fitting trousers. We'll cover pinning, measuring, and sewing techniques to ensure a tailored look.

Please bring along three items to work on in this class that fall into any of these categories. You may not work on all three garments in this course.

Tools are NOT provided for this class, if you don't have your own you can purchase a beginner supplies kit with all the tools required for this course in our Beginner Sewing Kit.

• Marking Tool (Chalk/Washout Marker) that will show up on your fabric
• Seam Gauge
• Measuring Tape
• Seam Ripper
