Learn to Sew - Chatham
Have you always wanted to make your own clothing? This is the course for you!
Over the course of 4 weeks, you will learn how to construct a woven top and knit pencil skirt.
This class is for adults, open to ages 14 and older
Skills Taught:
Types of fabric and choosing the right fabric for your project
How to measure yourself
How to choose and follow a commercial sewing pattern
How to alter your garment for a perfect fit
Knowledge of operating a machine is required, if you have never used a machine before you must start with our Machine 101 class.
You can purchase a beginner supplies kit with all the tools required for this course in our Beginner Sewing Kit. Fabric can be purchased in store on the first day of the course.
Tools needed:
- Universal & Stretch Needles
- Scissors
- Pins
- Clips (optional but recommended)
- Marking Tool (Chalk/Washout Marker) that will show up on your fabric
- Seam Gauge
Sewing Machines and tools are not provided for this class, you must bring your own.

If your schedule changes and you notify us by email at least 7 days in advance, we offer you a credit to be used towards a future class. If we need to cancel a class for any reason, your class fee will be fully refunded in this case only.
