Can I combine orders?
Many orders are cut and shipped within 24 hrs, please contact us immediately by phone at 519-397-1660 or email at hello@stitchhappens.ca to inquire about combining. If you have received tracking for your order, it is too late to combine.
How much is shipping?
Canadian orders ship from Windsor or Chatham, ON. Shipping within Ontario & Quebec is $15 flat rate and the rest of Canada is $18 flat rate.
As of November 15/24 we are shipping all orders by courier service to avoid delays during the on going Canada Post strike. Shipping prices and transit times remain the same.
US orders ship from Detroit, MI once a week. Shipping is $16 CAD (about $12USD) flat rate.
Flat rate shipping means your shipping cost is the same no matter how many products you order, so feel free to load up your cart!

Can you ship letter mail?
**As of November 15/24 letter mail is not currently an option due to the ongoing Canada Post strike.
Some items can ship letter mail within Canada. If you are ordering a pattern or a yard or less of fabric, letter mail may be an option. Letter mail shipping is $6 and does not come with any tracking or insurance, so we will not be responsible for any items that are not delivered.
If you think your order may be able to ship letter mail, send us an email at hello@stitchhappens.ca and we will confirm.
Do you offer local pick up?
Yes! Local pick up is available at both of our stores in Windsor or Chatham, ON. Select the "Local Pick Up" shipping option at checkout. You will be notified by email once your order is ready for pick up.
When will my order ship?
Our regular order processing time is 3-7 business days, which does not include weekends or holidays. Orders placed during a sale may take up to 14 business days to process.Orders being shipped within Canada will be shipped immediately after they are processed. US orders ship once a week from Michigan and may take several days after processing to be shipped.
Will my fabric be continuous?
Cuts over 2yds are not guaranteed to be continuous. Please leave a note at checkout if you need continuous yardage and we will contact you if needed.Service Questions
Do you service sewing machines?
Yes, we service all models of Baby Lock, Janome, Brother, Elna and Singer machines that are under 30 years old. We do not service Pfaff, Husqvarna, Bernina or Bernette. Typical service turn around time is 3 weeks but may be longer during peak times. Service costs start at $100+hst and vary based on make, model and condition of the machine.
Do you do alterations?
Sorry, we don't do alterations! But we can teach you how to do your own. Book a private lesson and we will teach you the basics of clothing alterations.
Are machines provided for classes? Can I bring my own?
Machines can be rented for classes at a rate of $10+hst. If you have your own machine, you are encouraged to bring it in for class if you have familiarized yourself with the operation of the machine. Cutting and sewing tools (scissors, pins, chalk, etc.) are not provided for classes; you must bring your own or purchase a Beginner Sewing Kit, which will contain all of the necessary items in it.
What tools do I need for classes?
All classes require the following tools:
- Scissors and snips
- Pins
- Chalk or Marking Pen
- Tape Measure
- Seam Gauge
- Matching Thread
Optional tools:
- Clips
- Clear Ruler
- Rotary Cutter
I don't have a machine at home, can I come in and use one of your machines?
Absolutely! We offer open studio time where students can come in to use our machines and ask questions about their project. Cutting tools and regular machine thread are not provided so please bring your own or purchase some in store. Serger thread is provided in black, white, or grey.
