About Us
Stitch Happens is a fabric store and sewing school with two locations in Southwestern Ontario.
Stitch Happens offers sewing classes for beginner to pro level sewists. We carry a curated collection of textiles featuring a selection of ecofriendly fabrics, athletic fabrics and quilting cottons to help you create beautiful clothing. The founders Catherine and Caita are a mother daughter duo with decades of experience in fashion and costume design. In 2020, the two decided it was time to start their dream business, educating Windsor-Essex on garment construction and selling high quality textiles.
In 2022, Stitch Happens expanded to a second location in Chatham. Our Windsor, Ontario store is located in the Walkerville area. Our Chatham, Ontario store is located in the Historic Downtown area. At both locations you can shop a wide variety of fabric and notions, take classes and bring your sewing machine in for service. Stitch Happens is an authorized Baby Lock Sewing Machine Retailer.
Land Acknowledgment
We acknowledge that we are on land and surrounded by water, originally inhabited by Indigenous Peoples who have travelled this area since time immemorial. This territory is within the lands honoured by the Wampum Treaties; agreements between the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Lenni, Lenape and allied Nations to peacefully share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Specifically, we would like to acknowledge the presence of the Three Fires Confederacy (Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi and Huron/Wendat) Peoples. We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture while remaining committed to moving forward respectfully with all First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
